Well, a USB pen drive works just fine - no issues there. The thing is, why would it have worked in earlier versions (both 9.3 and 10.0), and not work now? Nothing much happenned to this camera in between my last try on 10.0 and the 10.3 update - I would say it's unlikely that the something went wrong with it.
Very strange. Maybe you'll get someone to say they updated teh USB subsysetm in 10.3. In any case, thought you'd get a kick out of this interaction with Canon. You HAVE written them haven't you??

Thank you for writing to us. We value you as a Canon customer and appreciate the opportunity to assist you with your PowerShot S60. Unfortunately, our products aren't supported by Linux, we don't offer drivers for linux.
We have drivers for Windows and Mac based pcs. Thank you very much for writing back.
I understand you have drivers for Windows PCs. I have upgraded to
Linux.
Please tell me where the linux drivers are.

While considering the desire to provide the best possible support for Canon's products, Canon must make decisions on which products to support when new operating systems are introduced. Currently, Canon has decided to support only the Microsoft Windows and the Macintosh operating systems. We understand, and sincerely apologize for any frustration you have experienced if your are using another operating system, but we hope that you understand our rationale.
Thank you for your quick response.
Since Linux has been out for 16 years, do you think you might be able to get your resources moved on to supporting it anytime soon?
When will you support linux? I upgraded from Windows Vista and expect vendors to support modern operating systems.
Dear K. Ponte:
Thank you for your reply. We value you as a Canon customer and appreciate the opportunity to assist you.
Currently we have not had sufficient demand from Linux users to warrant the creation of Linux drivers for PowerShot cameras. Whether this is due to many Linux users using multiple operating systems or opting for card readers is not known to us.
