If simple-mtpfs prints an error like
# simple-mtpfs ~/phone
LIBMTP PANIC: Trying to dump the error stack of a NULL device!
then probably another MTP tool accesses the smart-phone.
You can kill them all:
# killall -v gvfs-mtp-volume-monitor # killall -v gvfsd-mtp # killall -v mtp.so
/IF/ you have "gvfs*" running, then forget about simple-mtpfs, because there are easier ways. Just open the phone with Nautilus or Thunar, and the phone will appear under the "/run/user/1000/gvfs/" tree. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.0 x86_64 at Telcontar)
