Subject: Re: German high-speed train disaster I'm surprised no one has noted that Linux Journal's <<A HREF="http://www.ssc.com/issue49"><A HREF="http://www.ssc.com/issue49</A">http://www.ssc.com/issue49> May issue carried a story about Linux being used for a data acquisition system on the ICE trains.
The problem being studied? Prematurely out-of-round wheels...
Entries like this makes me wonder how well, if at all, you check your stories. 1) when I checked this morning the url from your article ends up at SSC's "page not found" message. the correct url for the 49th issue seems to be url:<A HREF="http://www.ssc.com/lj/issue49"><A HREF="http://www.ssc.com/lj/issue49</A">http://www.ssc.com/lj/issue49 2) at the time I checked (a little before nine in the morning, june 17th, Central European Daylight Savings Time), I was unable to find any references to data aquisition or trains. But then again, if this is an attempt to up your list's comedy appeal, you've succeeded. -- Peter N. M.
