Are you waiting for resolution or did you change reload to restart?
ps: added comment to your bug-report.
Just for the mail archives: that bug was closed as a dup, and the original bug has a working patch in it. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=859439
As I read, the patch is not optiminal as it removes the syntax check...
Have a look at comment 6 that presents the more than obvious way to re-introduce that syntax check. FWIW, I never considered that syntax check relevant. People who change configuration files on production servers and have problems without testing that change in test environments get what they deserve. You see, I'm a Unix grey beard (literally), I think we shall people allow to shoot themselves in their foot.[*] Non-starting servers -- owing to config syntax errors in development or test environments -- are irrelevant, one just fixes the errors. Joachim [*] Actually, shooting in one's foot is good. Everyone doing serious work does it, once in a while. (I'm from Germany, and we have a saying -- one has seen horses puking.) If it happens scarcely, it's a reminder for proper processes, backups, and deployment plan B's. If it happens often, it's a reminder that you should look out either for better processes or for better skills of your working people. Actually, if it happens often, you should either look to take over the whole affair, or send out your resume for different work, or offer more consultig if you're an external. -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Joachim Schrod, Roedermark, Germany Email: jschrod@acm.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
