Its not that systemctl/logging isn't verbose. Traditionally UNIX was never verbose, compared to IBM or DEC OSes. Until you asked.
Well, I was not referring to "logs" here. Rather to the text printed in the screen when openSUSE booted and dumped you into emergency mode because a partition was not found or fsck failed and required a manual run.
