Just a short heads up about a new feature in zypper version: 1.14.23 We have added new commands for locale management: zypper locales zypper addlocale zypper removelocale Those commands make it possible to inspect and manipulate the systems `requested locales`, aka. the languages software packages should try support by installing translations, dictionaries and tools, as far as they are available.
Thank You very much, this sounds cool! Do I understand it correctly it should be possible to install/remove language support for all installed packages? E.g. if I install server in English and then decide to add language support (translations, etc.) for Czech, this will install all needed packages so users logging via SSH will be able to set their locale and have everything translated? And if I decide to remove the locale, all such packages will be uninstalled and no unneeded leftovers stay on the system? -- Vojtěch Zeisek
