This is probably a bumb question but here it goes...
I have SuSE running. I have VmWare running with Win98 & Win2000 (puke (need it for work, unfortanatly :-)) What do I have to set up to where I can get onto the Network (Internet, SMTP, POP3 and so on...) with
-- Hi Rick, There are no dumb questions....only dumb answers, so leave it to me ;-). Under settings (before you start the virtual machine) select settings --> configuration editor -->serial ports --> select where your modem is...com1, etc. Select that and you will have to type in /dev/ttyS0 or whatever. Check install and have it start at boot. Be sure to save your config (it will ask) Fire up your virtual machine and from there it should be a typical internet connection setup in Win98......don't know from win2000. The virtual machine will have control of the serial port, but you can deselect it in vmware-toolbox. If you're looking for a network connection (LAN) you will need to do a bunch of other stuff. This is kinda OT, so feel free to contact me off-list and I will try to help with my meager networking skills. TRBishop tb64710@alltel.net RLU#12043 SuSE 7.0.Pro / BeOS 5 Pro
