George, I too had much experience configuring systems when I started with Linux a few months ago. My suggestions were to take the steps I took to learn how this works. The problem is that different tools within Linux handle things differently. Also different ISPs do things differently. If you can figure out how to connect to your ISP by hand, then everything else should be easy. For anybody to help you with this you will need to let us know what tool you are using. Are you using the KDE/KPPP? I'm really not trying to "RTFM" you, but when I, RTFM I learned a lot. George Anderson, Jr wrote:
