Hi folks,
The openSUSE maintenance team will be updating Mozilla Firefox from 3.5.11 to 3.6.8 in openSUSE 11.1 and 11.2.
I have read warnings that it doesn't work with vmware-server. Is it true?
I don't know but Firefox 3.6 is out since some time so I would hope it works but if not what should we do about it? Between Firefox 3.5 and 3.6 there was an obsoleted plugin layer removed which was used in the past for the old Java plugin. If the VMware plugin uses the same then it won't work anymore.
It still works for me, I think, because I installed it with a previous version of FF (when 11.2 was released), then upgraded wit the plugin already installed and working. I have a bit of difficulty with starting it, and I think it doesn't work at all via https. I don't know what can be done. It is proprietary software, after all, and vmware wants to dump the server version, which is the only one a bit "open". I ask because other people might know more about this problem :-? I understand the problem is with installation of the plugin, rather than later working with it. But I have not seen, or I lost it, a report or something explaining the problem. Maybe if vmaware buys Novell, as rumours say... :-p (ducking)
Probably other people on the list have experience with it?
