Verify that you have installed gcc, which is the c++ compiler. It is on the supplied 5.3 cdrom.
I also tried to install the wvdial rpm and it looked for this library. I am running 5.3 with gcc installed and have only libstdc++.so.2.7 on my machine. I downloaded the source package and compiled it with no problems. Presumably the binaries in the rpm were compiled with this later library. Could it be from the 6.0 release?
