I originally posted this in opensuse-kde, but it's very quiet over there, and there seems to be a lot of discussion about KDE4 going on here, so...
I've started playing with KDE4, and I've managed to get Kmail4 to see my Mailboxes.
How do I find my KDE3 list of Contacts?
How do I load my KDE3 calendar?
I don't want to have to recreate all this stuff. In fact, I'd like Kontact and Kontact/KDE3 to both use the same databases.
Regarding the calendar, have you given any thought to Mozilla Sunbird? It's a really sweet application. We have our calendars here on a nfs/smb share, so we can view and modify them from any of our network machines. There's even an option to host them on an Apache server, so they can be accessible from anywhere.
This doesn't answer all your other needs, of course, but I wanted to mention Sunbird (and its Thunderbird add-in, Lightning). It's worked extremely well for us here.
I use Tbird and Lightning at work, in a Windows environment, and they're good, but here I'm using Kontact. Migrating to a different Calendar/Mail/Address book app would give me the same problem of rebuilding all my data over again.
