I tried to install NVidia drivers (from nvidia.com) for my GeForce4 420 Go on Toshiba Satellite S1410-303.
I install 8774 driver (not from rpm packages one nvidia.com). Effect was the same - hung up. So I installed driver from 7XXX series and it is working now.
Interesting, but NVidia should update legacy-chip list for 7XXX, because it's rather not completed ;)
The *Go chips should all be supported by the newer drivers. And if they weren't, they should never ever hang up the machine.
