I have used 'apper' for the 'updating', several times now. It shows an enormous window..... with nothing in it.... just a moving bar.. So why doesn't it show what it does, like zypper, and yast? Or is it not finished yet, and we have to wait for the update that it shows what it does? Because apper can only show things it knows about. And the zypp developers at openSUSE did not bother to implement the functionality of telling packagekit anything about the progress of the download. The download is done by the zypp- backend, apper is just a frontend.

Ah, ok, 'just' a frontend... I thought what people see should look good... Personally i do not really like not to know what is going on... So i guess just use zypper or yast than for the job... thnx for the reaction. -- Have a nice day, Oddball.
