Actually Microsoft doesn't even acknowledge linux. Until gnome or kde makes it unnecessary for new users to know any unix they won't be in the same market as a desktop os. Microsoft wants Sun's market. Releasing a solaris version of Internet Explorer wasn't for the profits, I assure you, just as not supporting sun's java standard and instead coming up with that active-x crap was a jab at sun as well. It doesn't benefit m$ to play ball with the industry unless they are trying to advance their own technology. Microsoft won't acknowledge linux until linux is getting some of their marketshare or until Microsoft could profit by stealing the linux market the way they have gone after Silicon Graphics' market. And why do you think that is Mickael? This is a frontal by MS on Linux.
