Indeed - as already reported yesterday, I had neglected to install the 32bit runtime. So, zypper in glibc-32bit libdevmapper-32bit. All sorted. One last hurdle - I had to manually unblacklist 'jfs' and rebuild the initrd. No big deal, I think that's to be expected.
