When ever I FTP files from the internet over my DSL-connected Linux router box to my Windows machine, depending on the server, I can get a transfer rate of 120k/sec. When I FTP files from my Windows machine to one of my Linux boxes (running SuSE 6.3) the maximum speeds peaks at 35k/sec. If I'm not mistaken, 35k/sec is the maximum that can be reached with a 56k modem. Since none of my linux boxes are directly connected to the internet and I'm the only user, how I can I modify this restriction to allow faster transfers between my machines? Thanks!
