Well,I'm trying to find out how to correctly install some progs which I have on some CD's.Almost all tar and gz. With those progs no info is given on how to install them. Problem is that I have no place to install my manuals (small HD) and so I have a lot to ask. The main-manual of Suse doesn't bring relief here... If you have some tar that has been placed into a directory which you feel comfortable extracting into issue tar -xvf filename or if compressed tar -xzvf for those which are compressed..... You will find that often applications which are source not binary also need to be compiled and installed, what are you trying to do? Regards, Jon On Fri, 4 May 2001, Jean-Paul Faessen wrote:
