difficulty with Boot_Disk

 Does anyone have any clues what may be the problem :-

"Warning: unable to open an initial console.
 Kernel panic: no init found."

New boot disk created by Yast, produces this error ~ ideas, please ?

Background: Have just installed new IBM 30 gig HD and re-arranged
some Partitions ~ " /etc/fstab"  adjusted accordingly. and, LILO adjusted.

My SuSE 6.2 'puter boots sweet, from LILO

My 'puter barfs on new Yast_Created boot_disk !
