Was just wondering if anyone has successfully installed windows 10 as a guest os in virtualbox. I have windows 7 running quite happily and I have received notification that I can upgrade to windows 10.
Initial attempts failed with windows reporting cpu not compatible. After an update this is now saying that the virtualbox graphics adapter is not compatible.
Same for me. But I could upgrade Windows7 pro to WIndows10 pro, and it works fine for me. What I did, is; 1.Download iso file from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO 2. Burn it to DVD-R media. 3. Start VirtualBox (5.0.2), then Windows 7. 4. Insert DVD-R within Windows 7. 5. Open the DVD-R and click 'start.ex'. Then Update starts, it ends with 'update of Win 7 to Win 10'. That's all. PS. After updating, don't forget to uninstall guest addttions, then shoutdown the Windows 10. Then edit the settins of Windows 10 (especially shared folder setting). And start Windows 10, then install guest addtions. You can set the resolution, and use the shared folder.
