Correction, Oracle 8.0.5 is free to download from their site, www.oracle.com, it's 147Mb file to download, and you need 300Mb of space to install it, plus any space you will use for your database files. -john.

I run SO 4.0sp3 on my Pentium 120 with 32MB RAM. I use xfce for a window manager (fairly lean), and it takes a couple minutes to load, but once loaded, works great.
while I am at it , what database tools are there for linux , simmilar to acess ect...
SO 4.0 has one, but it's very limited. I haven't figured out how to link tables with it, but it does have an SQL interface. It's really obscure to use, but it's there.
If you need a graphic interface, try Oracle8 for Linux. Oracle was giving it away - I don't know if they still are, however. 600MB to install, though.
