I tried using the printermanager on the workstation. It prints the "Printer Test Page" It makes a nice color wheel and 1 degree radial lines et the top and text at the bottom. I can, from the settings in the printermanager, see that it is a HP LaserJet 4L, running CUPS+Gimp-Print v4.2.5 It is set for A4 printing, which is correct.
So i know that printing from workstation is functional. Also if i testpage from the webinterface (printerserver:631 ) it also prints a nice test page.

OK, so the printer works, CUPS works, now go to the configuration for whichever program isn't working and configure it.
I had to tell some programs to use kprinter instead of the default lp or lpd, some had to have the correct printer selected, etc.
Good luck, Fred

Thanx.. Seems i didnt have gimp set up properly.. It printed in "postscript 2" format, and the Lj4 apparently didnt like it. When i finally found the setting it seems to work as intended. -- /Rikard ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- email : rikard.j@rikjoh.com web : http://www.rikjoh.com mob: : +46 (0)763 19 76 25 ------------------------ Public PGP fingerprint ---------------------------- < 15 28 DF 78 67 98 B2 16 1F D3 FD C5 59 D4 B6 78 46 1C EE 56 >
