Actually I found out that if I select X-CD-Roast from the application menu thsn something starts .. I can see X-CD-Roast icon "X" flickering on the screen for a few seconds ... which should preceed the selected application "X-CD-Roast" to start ... unluckily after a few seconds the icon disappears and nothing starts at all ... HOW COME ? I verified that /usr/bin/cdrecord is installed .
Can you open a terminal window and start it from the command line. It *should* give you some errors. Post them and we might be able to help some more.
