Never had either of these problems under any of SuSE 7.0 thru 9.0.
Ditto. I assume this is a laptop?
3. Kernel bootsplash doesn't work at all. GRUB bootsplash works OK. However, tty1 doesn't get any kind of graphical treatment though all settings are correct to my best determination (they worked on all previous releases I've used to date).
I tried echoing 0x0f01 into /proc/splash as in the Admin Guide w/o success. /proc/splash always says splash is off. BTW, I'm runnng the update kernel, updated via YOU.

4. KDE trashes my personal settings (as has nearly every KDE upgrade) [Sigh...]. Booting back to 8.2 kept the trashed settings and I had to restore my ~/.kde dir from a backup to get my old settings back (yes, I did make a backup copy before the upgrade). This is more of a gripe than anything else; I don't expect a fix for this. I'll just have spend a few more hours redoing the configuration for this release.
No Comment as I do very little Desktop config, I doubt I'd notice a trashing...
Anyone else seen any of these? I searched the SuSE portal without finding anything related. I've worked on this for several days and have given up on 9.2 for a few days until I can muster up the energy to have another go at it. Back to 8.2 ...
BTW, I'm running a 750 MHz PIII laptop with an ATI Rage Mobility graphics chip. I have 2 cardbus cards installed: 3Com 3CCFE575CT Cyclone Enet and Adaptec APA-1480 SCSI. (Haven't yet tried removing the cards to see which one may be causing the problem.)
