Hi Todd,
I have been looking at this version and packaged it already. However the 0.5.2 release has some regressions as that my touchpad is no longer recognized.
As that this is a rewrite of synaptiks, the decision was taken not to update the package in KDF.
I'm very much against having always-on default-install applets in scripting languages - a quick look at the Python printer-applet in system monitor shows it squatting on a breathtaking 33MB. Not so much because RAM is scarce, but because they take a long time to start up on login. Has anyone looked at the synaptiks rewrite to see if it is all python, or if the always-on parts are in something lightweight?
I was wondering why python was running on my system. And although RAM is cheap, that does not mean that all systems can have more added. These 33MB here and 33MB there all add up...
