This is correct, evolution treats all it's files etc as URLS... So, the start of the URL is file:// And the file it's looking for is /home/list... As for why it's not finding it, I dunno, maybe you could post some more output?
Notice the third slash in file:///. The folders and files in question get created when evolution first starts, and the permissions are ok. I have searched high and low to find where file:/// is.
