Just to elaborate a little, I am pretty certain this is a problem with libreoffice writer, as the crash only seems to happen when I open up writer and begin using it.
Not necessarily in LO, LO could be invoking a call that is only see when using LO, but the problem may be in the intel module or kernel. I think you should do just exactly what the journalctl output says (and include that output in your bug report -- along with the crashdump file)
Just to clarify the error occur was first noticed here was first noticed by me in LO Calc, it affects all other LO docs new or old.
Well, I ran the upgrade that was in the standard repositories, and then I had to clear all my settings and start over with Plasma, as there were some other issues that came up. Since then, it seems to have cleared up the problem of LO causing my gpu to crash. I think it was basically what you all said, something in LO was invoking a call that caused the crash. I will file the bug report, maybe they will see something in a downstream kernel that needs to be fixed.
or maybe it is called the upstream kernel? trying to get my terminology right - the kernel that is to come is what I mean -- George Box: 42.2 | KDE Plasma 5.8 | AMD Phenom IIX4 | 64 | 32GB Laptop #1: 42.2 | KDE Plasma 5.8 | AMD FX 7TH GEN | 64 | 32GB Laptop #2: 42.2 | KDE Plasma 5.8 | Core i5 | 64 | 8GB -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
