modem connections

Hi ! Today I configured Hylafax/Susefax as root. Since then it is impossible to launch modem connections (kppp + susefax) from individual users. As root still Ok. Checked the files like hosts.hfaxd, etc/hosts is rw inittab checked but no result. Reconfiguring the users (access to modem allowed) in yast1 doesn't modify the situation. What the hell will I have done wrong (surely something but what ?). Any idea ? Rgds Jacek
