I have had the basic problem but with the g650 card and suse 10 rc1
I have found a solution however...
Upon starting bring up a console then type ifconfig ath0 down ( in your case wlan0 instead of ath0) ifconfig ath0 up dhcpcd ath0
then it works fine
hope this helps

I don't have a wireless card, but this article on netapplet that comes with SuSE 9.3 seems to be well worth looking at. http://www.linux.com/article.pl?sid=05/09/13/1914255 Regards Sid.
I guess the write up didn't help. The only things I can suggest is to see what iwconfig and dhcpcd report, they may be helpful. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ...
