This maybe OOT (to Marble), but take a look at http://atlas.pdc.org it maybe can fulfil your request regarding sea temperature layer. Just select the layer you want to show in the map. You can also select which map is suite you need for background map layer. I worked to provide some CAP (Common Alert Protocol) in Indonesia for this Pacific Disaster Center in the past.
Thanks you for this. I have opened this map but have yet to work out what it all means and to see that 'map' about sea temperature layer. I am sure that I will be able to work it out real soon :-) .
