[SLE] netscape and network

Hi, I'm wondering whether this is quite a common problem on private LAN, with ppp dial up account and Netscape lock up. What happens is that when off line Netscape freezes and sometimes crashes X's. I'm wondering if this is related to netscape forcing DNS lookup?. However when off line and I log as root, Netscape works off line with no problems. Other than that my network works fine.
