[opensuse] Thunderbird configure problem

A memory corruption and zapped my config, Putting dot files in $HOME back. With Thunderbird, I can click on a URL to get Firefox but it switches right away. I used to have it just open a new tab but not switch screens. My google-fu can't find the right wording.
