"zypper lr --detaitls" output is attached to this message. Well, no issue that I can see with them.
We have to look at something different. Maybe it is something specific with the videos you try to watch (mkv can hold many different type of videos). Maybe it is related to your video hardware, or your desktop.
My laptop has plain Intel video, and my main computer has nvidia with proprietary driver.
If the videos can be shared, we can try.
You can also try with other video players.
The same videos were seen a week ago in VLC with no problem. No other changes have been done in the computer, except a zypper update.
