This laptop had some weird bios settings that just prevented the bios from finding the wireless. Nearly every distrobution I tried (opensuse included) reported broken bios issues that was with 11.2, but it was fixed for 11.3.
Before this I had a Samsung R720 and to say the two have basically the same specs, 4gb ram, ati chipset, the R720 worked like a charm until I sat on it.
Still not over keen on this HP but stuck with it now lol.

I will. Up until recently I had been running opensuse 11.1 on an Acer Aspire 5515 for my work laptop. It is a fairly solid low-cost machine, and since much of what I do is via remote session (such as RDP or VNC), I don't require a very beefy system.
