Yes I have purchased an HP color Laser Jet CP1518ni. A PCL Driver - PCL6 will provide both greyscale and colour images without problems for me, however it is necessary to change options for grey scale to print B@W text and the colour for all colour images. If you want to print Black and White text from a color driver set as such you will end up with rubbish.
I much prefer to use Postscript Level II with does both very well
The flexibility you wish in terms of Printer RAM and a huge amount of others can be set at the printer. Its a good idea to print the Printers Menu System where you can allocate resources etc.
I would also suggesting that the Printer Be set up with its own IP/SUBNET address and you print to it via IPP. There is no need for a PC to Manage the Printer and it is best connected by twisted pair cable

anyone have experience with latest high end HP color lasers like HP Color LaserJet CP4005dn Printer? I want duplex printing & lot's of memory. Hard to choose without user feedback.
Me, mid-low end: CP1515n. Very happy, but no idea of durability/ reliability (too early). Not sturdy, I think, the tray is made of plastic. Printed output very good, photos look good (colorsphere, they call it), surprising for the 600*600 dpi resolution it has. No economy mode printing.

We just got a CP2025dn in the office - I used the 3035 PPD file in CUPS at install. Works great so far. Manne -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
