I wanted to give this warning as you are likely to find it nearby the card you bought. However, you can get Donald Beckers SRPM for all his drivers from www.scyld.com I have not had a problem compiling and installing this under SuSE 6.4 and 7.0. Just wanted give a heads up and a FYI :-). Matt On Monday 13 November 2000 23:13, John Murphy wrote:
I use Suse 7.0 and on the initial setup in yast for the network it auto detected the card no problem. I didn't install any drivers for it, for once I did something right. I don't know if it makes any difference on the version number of the cards but I think my version was 4.1 of the LNE100TX. It actually had a green sticker with a penguin on the box saying tested with Linux.
I was running Mandrake before and with that setup I picked the tulip driver and it worked fine.

The ethernet card I am using, or shall we say attempting to use, is the Linksys LNE100TX. It comes with a tgz file that you extract, then run make. The whole process went smoothly on my Caldera 2.4 system. I believe the card is correctly installed at this time.
On my SuSE system, however, when I type "make," it goes for a while, then gives this message:
make: *** No rule to make target `/usr/src/linux/drivers/net/8390.h', needed by `ne2k-pci.o'. Stop.
What does this mean, and is there anything I can do about it?
I tried downloading the latest version from the Linksys site, and it did the same thing.
Thanks.
