Dear Toshi, please take a look at Bug Nr. 956334. Unfortunately the bug processing at openSUSE is currently quite slow - this is my experience at last.
If you want to force the icons to remain where you have been putting them (and please nobody yell that this should not be done this way - it simply works) please change owner and mode of plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc in ~/.config:
Mine shows now
ls -l plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc
-rw-r----- 1 root users 6120 23. Nov 20:06 plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop- appletsrc
by this only root could modify this file - the icon positions get messed every other login, however, positions remain where I want them to when I log in next time. This is nothgin but a plaster - but it works reliably.
Good luck

Thanks Dieter for your informative post. It would definitely help people who are experiencing the symptom. Mine is not that icon placement issue. Rather resolution on multi-heads with NVIDIA driver. I know it's a tricky one. It stays as I set for now after some initial updates. But it breaks when something gets updated, seems like. All of issues would settle eventually like any new major releases. I would generally wait 6 months but this time I just jumped on a little earlier. I was just curious if some others had similar issues like yours. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
