I am thinking about getting a WD Mybook but their site says it only works with Windoze and MAC. I use opensuse 11 RC1 now but when 11.0 comes out i will use that. So, does anyone know if there is Linux software just like the WD MyBook (win) software that will allow me to backup my data on opensuse 11?
There is lots of backup software and options available in Linux... you can go as simple as a daily cron job that copies your data to another location (like an external drive), or you can use apps like Bacula, KDE's Keep, mirrordir, mondo etc etc. Check your prices... you usually pay more for the custom backup drives over just a SATA drive in a USB housing. You pay more to get the no-brainer-custom-software.... which you can't use anyway.
