I switched recently a couple of 7.0 machines at work to postfix. It was rather smooth, and definitely, postfix is much easier to configure than sendmail.
Postfix is mentioned as a "drop-in" replacement for Sendmail. I've been running Sendmail for some time now and am interested in trying Postfix. By "drop-in" do they mean that there is some way to convert your sendmail.cf or *.mc files into Postfix config files?
Nope. At least I don't know of any automatic configuration converter, but my knowledge is limited. I did it by hands. -Kastus
