Yes, I say back, because we had that option in SuSE 8 and 9, before we got zypper and zmd et families. It was removed, and not because it was not wanted, I guess.
You can easily do what you ask if you switch to "smart" for updates instead of the standard suse tools under yast.
Not an option for me: I want the official tools only, or at least, mainly.
