Thanks, after i removed kde4-knwesticker and compiz-kde4 i got no more conflicts and i have KDE4.2 running just fine now. Still, the removal of compiz-kde4 forced the installation of compiz-gnome and a bunch of gnome packages with it. And if i now try to remove compiz-gnome it tells me that it will install compiz-kde4 again. My system is working fine but i don't need all these gnome stuff installed. Any idea again ? I'm using openSUSE 11.1 with KDE4.1.3 and i'd like to update to KDE4.2. So i clicked on the link http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Desktop/openS USE_11.1/KDE4-BASIS.ymp expecting yast to do the rest for me.
Instead i get a bunch of package conflicts like:
- kde4-knewsticker-4.1.3-4.11.x86_64 requires kdepimlibs4 < 4.1.60, but this requirement cannot be provided - compiz-kde4-0.7.8-9.1.x86_64 requires libplasma.so.2()(64bit), but this requirement cannot be provided - kdelibs4-4.1.3-4.9.x86_64 requires libkde4 = 4.1.3, but this requirement cannot be provided
Do i have to had another repo or something for this to go smoothly ? Any ideas would be appreciated.
Some packages haven't been included in the kde 4.2 update repo, and those you have to remove, since they require kde 4.1 to run.
kde4-knewsticker and compiz-kde4 for example aren't there, and those you have to remove. kdelibs4 on the other hand is there, so I'm not sure why you're seeing that.
But remove kde4-knewsticker and compiz-kde4 before running the update. Don't remove kdelibs4 though
