Just thought I'd happily report that openSUSE 10.3 seems to run Vista under Virtualbox very nicely. So far Vista hasn't crashed once, and 10.3 handles multiple tasks very well.

(I'm finally rid of XP!)
My experience as well. I can't compare VB to other Virtual hosts because once I installed virtualbox, I never had a need to look elsewhere. Vista better than XP? Dunno about that. I find it a bit more cumbersome, but since I rarely use either anymore I probably have never taken the time to see the difference;-)
This discussion is running into a pro/con Vista :-) - so let me give my 2 cents... - for my 11 year old son, I bought/built a new gamer PC. With preloaded Vista Home. I was quite a lot against it, but he and his friends are gamers. He runs SuSE11 for serious stuff though. Now, he's downloading all sorts of stuff (Gary's Mod etc.) from the net. Changing all possible settings, really playing with it. Much to my surprise, it just runs. And runs. Only once did I have to roll back using the built-in rollback feature. This does not make me love Vista and certainly not MS. But I *have* changed my set mind on Vista since this. My daughter and wife both runs OpenSuSE 11. My wife for speed (she HATES ! MS-updates at boot-up) and interestingly enough my daughter (14) runs OpenSUSE due to Kopete! Which she thinks is way better than messing with Messenger. She also claims that the S11 is way more stable than what her friends have (Windows this and that). The bottom line; she couldn't care less about the OS. But she voluntarily chose S11 for stability, multiple backgrounds (desktops...), easy access to the pictures and videos in her mobile phone, the VLC player (she listens to music ALL the time, sigh) - and of all..Kopete! -- ------------------------------ Med venlig hilsen/Best regards Verner Kjærsgaard Novell Certified Linux Professional 10035701 http://www.os-academy.dk "There are 10 types of people; those who understand binary, and those who don't" ------------------------------ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
