are Ricoh, Samsung and Toshiba. (These are the OEMs, don't be surprised to find other brand names. IIRC, Memorex sells Ricoh). Another option is DVD-RAM manufactured by Panasonic, Toshiba and Hitachi. I also understand that all are supported since about kernel 2.2.15. (Again these are only the OEMs)
Any suggestions on where to buy one? My wife called elinux.com but
there is no such a thing as a CD-RW/DVD-ROM available. Like wise
tell her any cd-rw that worked with SuSE, told her she had to research the SuSE web site. It's a shame, we would have purchased from them had they been able to answer any of our questions, and tell us what to buy. They had one

thanks in advance,
I couldn't reach the elinux site, but I found both the toshiba and ricoh at http://www.megahaus.com listed under cd-rewritable. The two listed are the earlier models (ricoh mp9060 and toshiba sdr1002) and both run about $225 USD. Personally I'd lean toward the toshiba. You may also be able to find them on http://www.pricewatch.com but will probably have to search by model number. That said, listed by manufacturer and model number Toshiba sdr1002 and sdr2002 Ricoh mp9060 and mp9120 Samsung sm304 (I've also heard of variants with a trailing "a" or "b".) Also a quick search on http://www.google.com for "cdrw dvd combo" seemed to produce a number of good hits. Good luck, Tim
