Dirk, Just rembered. Have a look at the file /sbin/init.d/serial it is where the serial ports are initialized on boot up. It is very well commented. I have the following lines uncommented on my system. - SuSE 6.3 may be different on your system. run_setserial /dev/ttyS0 ${AUTO_IRQ} skip_test autoconfig run_setserial /dev/ttyS1 ${AUTO_IRQ} skip_test autoconfig Best of luck.
