Hello List,
On my thinkpad t61 (opensuse 11.1, kde 3.5.10, kernel 2.6.27.19-3.2) keyboard stops working absolutely randomly (or it seems so). All of a sudden none of the keys respond, only the mouse + trackpad/touchpad are responding and I have to restart the laptop to get it back to working.
Keyboard model is configured from CC and yast as "IBM thinkpad /.../.../t61/..." and when it happens, changing to other model and back and hitting "Apply" does not help.
Problem occurs very regularly which becomes quite annoying. I have no idea how can I even track this down, I tried to catch what am I doing exaclty which causes this but it really seems random.
Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas what might e causign the problem?

I've had this occasionally on versions 10.2 and later on a Dell laptop. In my case its always been some sort of rare KDE bug, which affects some sessions, but not necessarily all. For instance, If I either log out and in again with the mouse, or simply start a second session I can usually enter a login name and password (the keyboard often works on the log in screen, even tho its dead in the active session). I keep xvkvd around for situations where I have to finish something before I can start a new session. I've always thought it was a KDE problem. -- ----------JSA--------- Someone stole my tag line, so now I have this rental. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
