I did already upgrade to pilot-link-0.11.5 (the latest is 0.11.8) and it still fails to find it. Version 0.1.5 did work under 8.2 and "lsusb" does spot it.
What do you get in the log ('tail -f /var/log/messages') when you press the hotsync button? If the visor module is claiming the Palm, can you connect using pilot-link from the command line (e.g. 'pilot-xfer -p /dev/usb/ttyUSB0 -l' should list all databases on your Palm)? And check which port you're using against what the log reports - SuSE uses /dev/usb/ttyUSBx (notice the extra 'usb' directory).
