Hi, I installed gkrellm from the SuSE 8.1 Professional CDRom's. Shouldn't there be an entry in the KDE Start Menu -> SuSE -> System, for gkrellm to start it? I was looking at the KDE Control Center -> Look & Feel -> Menu Setting. The text under the radio button, "Standard KDE Menu", says: - contains only KDE applications - SuSE menu is accessible via an extra menu point It is my understanding that a graphical application is placed on the KDE Start menu according to what group it appears in on the CDROM. I haven't built an RPM, but I suspect when you build an RPM you can specify this type of information. Bottom line, when/how does an application get automatically placed in the KDE Start menu? Please forgive this analogy on this list :-) --- when a "good" Windows applications is installed it will ask you if you want an Application Group created or if you want to place the application in an existing Application Group. When the installation is completed it'll say, To Run Go To.... How does this compare when I install applications from the SuSE distribution CDRom or I install an application from an RPM that I downloaded? Thank you. -- __________________________ DJ mailto: linux_programmer@hotmail.com
