When I've done a network install, it's always been from a local copy of the DVD ISO or sometimes from a DVD. I've never done it over the internet.
I rarely do a SUSE install except via HTTP over cable, usually gwdg.de, mirrors.kernel.org, or download.opensuse.org. It sometimes takes 2 hrs or more, but usually less than 1.5, not counting partitioning, which I always do in advance when not using LVM, or finding, downloading & setting up grub to launch the installation kernel & initrd. -- "Love is not easily angered.
