We are in the same boat, Ed. I've never installed patches either. There is a program called 'patch' which man describes, but I've never used it and although I downloaded the patche file you refered to, and the reiserfs patch file, I never installed them . ReiserFS appears to work fine on my box. anyway. JLK On Sunday 07 January 2001 20:22, Ed Harrison wrote:
Jerry,
This may seem ignorant but ftp.suse.com/pub/people/mantel/next/ also has a file called pathes-24.tgz. I know nothing about patches. Is this file necessary? What does it do? How do you apply patches, if it is necessary?
I have never patched anything.
