Don't get me wrong, I definitely understand, and agree with, the backwards compatibility line of thinking - for ENTERPRISE systems. But IMO Leap itself never was, and should never pretend to be, an enterprise OS.
Leap's half-enterprise/half-rolling concept may seem weird but solves some problems here. It's "just the right dose of new". Servers are all running RHEL clones here. We also tried to base our desktop systems on these, but regularly had problems with newer and/or exotic hardware. Which led to interesting situations like "OK, this third-party kernel and driver repository allows me to configure either my video card or my Wi-Fi, but not both". :o) -- Microlinux - Solutions informatiques durables 7, place de l'église - 30730 Montpezat Site : https://www.microlinux.fr Blog : https://blog.microlinux.fr Mail : info@microlinux.fr Tél. : 04 66 63 10 32 Mob. : 06 51 80 12 12
