Will 11.4 "Goldmaster" Have nVidia Proprietary Driver? Will "Goldmaster" release of openSUSE 11.4 include nVidia proprietary display driver?
No, it's in a separate repo. I guess because of licensing issues.

Hi,
Well, will that repo page be updated with a driver for 11.4 ?
Jesse
In the past, the nvidia pre-compiled drivers/packages have come out a week or two after the official release.
So you either need to compile your own for 11.4 or wait until the end of March (or so).
Greg
The Nvidia repo is ready to go for 11.4 release later today and has the latest _stable_ driver. rpm -q nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-desktop nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-desktop-260.19.36_k2.6.37.1_1.2-23.1.x86_64 Jesse, the nouveau driver will likely be installed by default but it's a walk in the park add the Nvidia repo and install the proprietary driver. I'm not sure if that wiki page is up to date for 11.4 but to add the Nvidia repo with the proprietary driver do: yast > software repositories > add > community repositories > NVIDIA repository You'll then be able to search for and install the driver via the software managment module in yast, or via the command line with zypper. drop by #suse on freenode IRC if you have any queries. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
